More About Hollybrook Marketing

After our clients requested help in writing job cover letters, we started finding out exactly what we required to make a really good job cover letter.

We set about testing our beliefs in what a good job cover letter should have in it, and came up with a real good format that seemed to impress most of the interviewers that received them. That same format is still doing its work today and getting interviews for a high percentage of people.

Note: Applying for a job in the 21st century is exactly the same as doing it in the 1960s. We are all a little more knowledgeable today, and use much more sophisticated equipment - computer vs typewriter or pen and paper. We send off a cover letter and résumé, get an interview, do our stuff, and get the job - or not, as the case may be.

We use the very same core principles as we did back in the 60s, 70s, 80s etc. Back then, like today, many of the jobs in the service industries... cleaners, restaurant workers, cooks and head bottle washers etc., don't really need a cover letter, sometimes not even a résumé. You just turn up, have a chat with the boss-man and start work on Monday. But once you move into other areas of employment, you will need both a good cover letter and résumé to have any chance of improving yourself.

We found that this is where a lot of ordinary folks ran into difficulties. By ordinary we mean the average people that work hard each day to keep the country's economy going. Some of these folks might not have a great education, but there are some clever people out there that deserve a chance at some of the better jobs, but because letter-writing is not their speciality, they rarely get an interview, and therefore just stay at the same level.

At Hollybrook Marketing, we feel that everyone deserves a fair chance at getting any job they apply for. So our speciality has leaned towards "helping the little guy," so to speak. Why should all the educated people that are good at applying for jobs get all the chances?

So we set out to change all this so everyone has a fair chance on a level playing field. However, after completing our How to Write a Job Cover Letter guide, we honestly felt that anyone who buys it will have an Unfair Advantage over most of the others that might apply also.

The playing field has been leveled up - and now it often tilts in favour of the little guy. No longer do you need to fear not getting a fair chance of an interview. Nobody can guarantee getting invited for an interview, of course, but our guide is going to make you feel so much better about yourself, and your confidence is going to go sky high.

Your guide was absolutely amazing. I thought I knew everything I needed to know about writing a cover letter. But your guide opened my eyes to things I never would have thought of writing. I am not looking right now, but I am sure I will have more interviews in the future.
