Write a Professional Cover Letter

It is our belief at Hollybrook Marketing that all job cover letters should be professional. And why not? What is the difference?

A professional cover letter should be no different to any other letter of application. Every job application is just as important to everyone who applies.

The only difference could be that the job application is for a more "professional" postion, so to speak. Such a postion could be a banker, company executive, or other similar positions. The cover letter process is just the same except for the fact that one might talk at a more intellectual level. But whichever way we look at it, the cover letter format is still the same. There is no real difference in what we say and how we say it whether it be for an executive postion or a regular every day working class job. The process is the same each time, although in a more professional cover letter, we may be expected to use more intellectual content.

When we have to write a professional cover letter, a lot of people have always found it to be a very difficult task. The folks that do have trouble are certainly not dumb in any way, it is something that just doesn't come their way too often. For a white-collar type position you may need to take a little more time to formulate your words so they sound as eloquent as possible. But the general cover letter content should follow the same pattern as any cover letter. The format could change, however, if the empoyer requests things done in a certain way. You should always be prepared to follw instructions whether you are submitting a professional cover letter or a letter that is more styled to the position for which you are applying.

Your guide was absolutely amazing. I thought I knew everything I needed to know about writing a cover letter. But your guide opened my eyes to things I never would have thought of writing. I am not looking right now, but I am sure I will have more interviews in the future.
